An online UPS has a voltage that is continuously recycled; in the event of an unexpected drop in mains voltage, the UPS maintains the operation of the connected device, thanks to the built-in batteries, which are continuously charged. Thus, mains power is only needed to charge the batteries. Permanently connected devices always receive clean energy, without interference from the battery, so the output voltage of the online UPS will always be constant, regardless of the input voltage. The back-up time of the equipment is from a few minutes to several minutes which allows data to be saved and the equipment to be switched off safely, minimising the risk of data loss and equipment damage.
